Hello all,
Happy Early St. Patrick’s Day! I hope that everything is going well. We have a couple of great things before we head into Holy Week!
Sunday, March 18, 2012, 4:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Attached is the permission slip and waiver for the trip to Rebounderz this Sunday, March 18, 2012. We will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Rectory to go to Rebounderz (located in Sterling, VA). The cost is $14 (+ Cost of Dinner). We will stop for dinner on the way to the bounce arena. Please note that all participants must have the permission slip and waiver signed (No Waiver, No Bouncin’). We should be back around 8:00 p.m. RSVP to Ronnel as soon as possible.
Friday-Sunday, March 23-25, 2012, Meet at 5:45 p.m. and Return by 4:30 p.m.
There are a limited amount of spots remaining for the biggest retreat in St. Thomas More Youth Ministry history! This retreat’s theme, Come Follow Me, is based on the Gospel during the Fifth Sunday of Lent and will focus on how we can Come back to the Lord, Seek His face in everyone and everything, Connect to our Faith and will look at resolving our lives for the future.
Our annual retreat brings us back to good ole’ Camp St. Charles in Newburg, MD. There will be times for prayer, relaxation, renewal, community building, fellowship, catechesis and much more. The retreat costs $80 and includes transportation, lodging, meals and a gift at the end of the retreat. Spots are limited and are only available on a first-come, first-served basis. A $20 Cash Deposit and paperwork is requested to be turned in by Sunday, March 18. More details can be found in the retreat packet attached or on the Youth Ministry Website.
From now on, we will meet (at 6 p.m.) and dismiss (at 8 p.m.) from the Cathedral Rectory (the house to the left of the Cathedral from the parking lot). The decision is both for security, parking and administrative purposes. The Cathedral-side of the parking lot has more lighting, is close in proximity to the Youth Ministry office & storage facilities and also eliminates transporting collected trip money in the twilight/dark times. In walking around the Cathedral parking lot, we will travel in groups depending on the location and time of day. This will not affect WorkCamp meetings for the time being. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the youth ministry office.
PRAY: Meet the St. Thomas More WorkCamp Crew!Come meet the largest WorkCamp Crew in the history of St. Thomas More’s participation (since 2005). There are 5 adults and 20 teenagers from all over the diocese with strong ties to the parish and the youth ministry program here at the Cathedral. We ask for our entire parish to join us in prayer. BUY: Bake Sale to Support the STM WC Crew!After all the morning Masses, tell all your friends, family and parents to go buy some savory baked goods and miscellaneous St. Patrick’s Day items. All proceeds go to support the 25 people we are sending to Diocesan WorkCamp.
